Offboarding from SpamTitan
If you are canceling your SpamTitan service, you will need to follow the offboarding steps below before your service deactivation date (i.e. when your renewal expires). Offboarding entails stopping mail flow through SpamTitan and restoring direct delivery to the destination mail server. As part of our automated system, your portal will also be shut down by our support team and your data deleted. You will not need to log a support ticket for offboarding.
If you change your mind about canceling the service, please reach out to your Account Manager and/or Customer Success Manager.
To offboard from SpamTitan:
Remove Mail Flow restrictions
Disable or remove the partner connector / inbound connector in:
Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online)
Google Workspace
Any other mail server in use
This connector enforces that only SpamTitan servers can deliver email. If left in place, emails will be rejected after mail exchange (MX) record changes.
If SpamTitan IPs have been allowed on your mail server to bypass spam filtering, these should also be removed.
Update MX records
Change the DNS mail exchange (MX) records to point to the new mail server. Wait for DNS propagation (based on TTL).
Update SPF records
If you are using SpamTitan for outbound filtering, remove SpamTitan from your SPF records.
If you need any assistance, please log a support ticket.
After completing these steps, new emails will flow directly to the new destination server. SpamTitan will no longer process incoming mail. Existing quarantined emails will remain accessible, and users can still log in and release messages. Quarantined messages will expire and be automatically deleted based on retention settings.
On your service deactivation date, our support team will be instructed to schedule the removal of your portal and the deletion of your data.
