Offboarding from WebTitan
If you are canceling your WebTitan service, you will need to follow the offboarding steps below before your service deactivation date (i.e. when your renewal expires). Offboarding entails removing WebTitan's DNS filtering, restoring standard DNS resolution. As part of our automated system, your portal will also be shut down by our support team and your data deleted. You will not need to log a support ticket for offboarding.
If you change your mind about canceling the service, please reach out to your Account Manager and/or Customer Success Manager.
To offboard from WebTitan:
Update device DNS settings
Remove the WebTitan DNS IP addresses and change the DNS on all devices to a new resolver (e.g. internal DNS, public DNS). Once the WebTitan addresses have been removed, filtering will no longer be active.
Remove local DNS proxy (if used)
If a WebTitan DNS proxy is deployed on site, decommission and remove the server. Ensure that no devices point to the proxy.
Uninstall any OTG agents
The WebTitan OTG agent enforces DNS routing to WebTitan externally. If you have the OTG agent installed on any endpoints, you will need to uninstall them.
If you need any assistance, log a ticket with our support team.
Expected behaviour after completing these steps is that DNS queries should resolve directly via the configured DNS server. There should be no more filtering or policy enforcement from WebTitan.
On your service deactivation date, our support team will be instructed to schedule the removal of your portal and the deletion of your data.
